Why Play Battleline?

Battleline is a free, simple version of miniature wargaming, designed for kids ages 12+ in mind. The rules fit on one double-sided sheet, which makes learning so much easier! The game require only a little reading and no previous knowledge on how to play a miniature wargame.

This makes Battleline perfect for students, kids, and spouses of wargamers who have never picked up a mini before! It is also a skirmish-sized game, which means less models are needed to play.

A focus on simplicity does not mean Battleline is boring for experienced wargamers, as it is only the rules that make Battleline simple to learn. There is still impeccable depth and strategy available for those with a calculating mind.

Battleline might be free, but you will need your own supplies to play a game!

Miniatures

You will need something to represent your soldiers in game. These could be miniatures from other popular wargames such as Bolt Action, but you can play for next to no cost with just some paper cut into circles!

Rulers

Battleline is designed to play with the typical 30 cm rulers you would find in a math classroom, but works even better if you happen to have any measuring tape.

Dice

You will need one regular six-sided die for each soldier, and many more if you want to play with tanks or artillery! It is a good idea to bring a lot of dice if you plan on playing the larger-scale game modes.
